Support and sync is a storage service that automatically saves your photos and videos to your Google Account. These photos and videos will be accessible from any device where yous are logged into your account.

There are 2 ways to back up your telephone, photographic camera, or storage card from your calculator:

  1. Install Backup and Sync.
  2. Upload photos from your browser.

Set up Google Bulldoze for desktop

  1. On your computer, download and install Google Drive for Desktop.
  2. Sign in to your Google Account.
  3. Select the folders or pictures you want to back upwardly and thenBack up to Google Photos.
  4. Select Washed and thenSave.

Important:

  • If you remove a photo or video from your computer that y'all previously backed up to Google Photos, it stays in Google Photos.
  • If you remove a photo or video from Google Photos, information technology isn't removed from Google Drive or your computer.
  • Uploads can be slower and use more than storage if you back up to both Google Photos and Google Bulldoze. Unless you need a second re-create in Drive, nosotros recommend you support photos and videos to Google Photos.

If yous already have Backup and Sync for Drive

Backup and Sync is at present Google Drive for desktop.

If y'all already have Backup and Sync installed, you lot'll exist migrated to Google Drive for desktop.

To upgrade sooner, uninstall Backup and Sync and and then follow the steps above to set Google Drive for desktop.

Select a different upload size

You can change the upload size for photos and videos backed up to Google Photos from your calculator.

Important: You can't change the upload size for files synced with Google Bulldoze.

Support your Apple Photo Library (Mac only)

If your calculator runs macOS, you tin dorsum up your Arrangement Photograph Library to Google Photos.

Tips:

  • If you have more than one Apple Photos Library, simply the System Photograph Library will exist backed upwardly. You can apply Apple tree Photos to alter the System Photograph Library.
  • If your Apple tree Photo Library is synced with iCloud, all photos and videos in your library and cloud will be backed up to Google Photos on macOS 10.15 and above.

Upload items to Google Photos from your browser

  1. On your estimator, open photos.google.com.
  2. At the top right, click Upload and thenComputer.
  3. Find and select your photos.
  4. Click Open up.

Yous can also drag photos from your computer to the album to upload them to Google Photos. If you drag a photograph to a specific album, the photo will be uploaded to that anthology.
